Configuration CLI Commands
Learn how to configure and manage your MeshCore node using CLI commands. This guide covers device settings, radio parameters, network configuration, and other options to customise your node's behaviour and optimise its operation within the mesh network.

1. View or Change Radio Parameters
View Current Radio Parameters
get radio
Displays the current radio configuration.
Set Radio Parameters
set radio <freq>,<bw>,<sf>,<cr>
Sets the radio parameters for the node.
Parameters:
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
freq | Frequency in MHz. |
bw | Bandwidth in kHz. |
sf | Spreading factor (5–12). |
cr | Coding rate (5–8). |
Default: 869.618,62.5,8,5
Build flags:
LORA_FREQLORA_BWLORA_SFLORA_CR
Note: A reboot is required for changes to take effect.
2. View or Change Transmit Power
View Transmit Power
get tx
Displays the configured transmit power.
Set Transmit Power
set tx <dbm>
Sets the LoRa chip's transmit power.
Parameter:
dbm— Transmit power in dBm (1–22).
Build flag: LORA_TX_POWER
Default: Varies by board.
⚠️ Warning: This setting controls the LoRa chip's transmit power only. Some boards include an additional power amplifier that increases the total output power. Refer to your board's manual for the correct setting. Setting transmit power too high may violate local radio regulations.
3. Temporarily Change Radio Parameters
tempradio <freq>,<bw>,<sf>,<cr>,<timeout_mins>
Temporarily changes the radio parameters for a specified duration.
Parameters:
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
freq | Frequency in MHz (300–2500). |
bw | Bandwidth in kHz (7.8–500). |
sf | Spreading factor (5–12). |
cr | Coding rate (5–8). |
timeout_mins | Duration in minutes; must be greater than 0. |
Note: These settings are not saved to preferences and are cleared when the node reboots.
4. View or Change Frequency
View Current Frequency
get freq
Displays the configured radio frequency.
Set Frequency
set freq <frequency>
Changes the radio frequency.
Parameter:
frequency— Frequency in MHz.
Default: 869.618 MHz
Notes:
- A reboot is required for changes to take effect.
- The
set freq <frequency>command is available via serial only.
5. Configure Radio Receive Gain
Compatibility: SX12xx and LR1110 radios running firmware v1.14.1 or later.
View Receive Gain
get radio.rxgain
Displays the current receive gain mode.
Set Receive Gain
set radio.rxgain <state>
Enables or disables the radio chip's boosted receive gain mode.
Parameter:
state—onoroff.
Default: on
Note: If you upgraded from an older firmware version to v1.14.1 without erasing the flash, this setting may be off due to issue #2118.
6. Configure FEM Receive Gain
Controls the external LoRa Front-End Module (FEM) receive-path Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) on supported boards.
View FEM Receive Gain
get radio.fem.rxgain
Displays the configured FEM receive gain state.
Set FEM Receive Gain
set radio.fem.rxgain <state>
Enables or disables the external FEM receive-path gain.
Parameter:
state—onoroff.
Notes:
- Only applies to supported boards.
- This setting is separate from
radio.rxgain, which controls the radio chip's receive gain mode.
7. Configure FEM Transmit Gain
Controls the software-selectable external LoRa FEM transmit gain on supported boards.
View FEM Transmit Gain
get radio.fem.txgain
Displays the configured FEM transmit gain state.
Set FEM Transmit Gain
set radio.fem.txgain <state>
Enables or disables the external FEM transmit gain.
Parameter:
state—onoroff.
Station G3 Specific Information
On the Station G3:
- Remove the PA PL1 jumper to enable software control.
onselects PA PL1 high/short.offselects PA PL1 low/open.- The PA PL2 hardware jumper determines whether this switches between power levels 1/3 or 2/4.
⚠️ Important: Choose an operating level and SX1262 transmit power that comply with local radio-frequency limits and the Station G3 power-supply requirements.
Additional notes:
- The setting is saved immediately.
- On Station G3, the hardware level is applied at the start of the next transmission to avoid changing the PA supply rail while the amplifier is active.
- The
getcommand reports the configured state, which may differ from the hardware's current state until the node transmits again.
